If you guys happen to see Red Dragon go on sale again, please give me a head's up.  I think I'm ready to jump in, but I will wait until it drops in price again because I know it will and I can be patient.   :D

If you go to the site isthereanydeal.com you can sign up for alerts that will tell you immediately when it goes on sale from any of the main stores.  You can even setup rules such as only alert you when the price is less than a certain value.  This site is saving me a lot of time and searches:)

Right now the cheapest price appears to be $29 (which is on sale) at GameStop and you ge steam key.

For Steam, put the game under your wishlist and will alert you when there's a sale.

That site is pretty impressive.  I did a search for someone asking about EU4 and the thing even lists the lowest price they've sold for on each retailer in the past.   :o

Some more 7 days to die...alpha 8.3 just got released.

thats an impressive hoard, they seem to get bigger each day. Thats my current lodging to the left,, i'm going to lead the hoard away. You can avoid them no problem during the day. Just dont get caught inside or run into one near dark.

Day before above.....Bad timing, couldnt make it back to my hidey hole. Its about to go dark, time to run.

building up some defense, spike trenches and a wall when i got interrupted.

another roaming hoard

see how the defenses hold up.... not real good.

I'm up to day 10.......sunrise

It really has been great and makes it so much easier when looking for sales...also the alerting features is top notch so your always aware when a game hits a price you want to jump in at.

I don't even bother looking at the game store sites directly anymore:)

The Taking of Baisha Village (cont):-

The Lynx 3 pops up to recon the area and provide escort for the Lynx's bringing in new AT reinforcements

They arrive in short order and drop off two teams who take off for the village

With repositioned Commando teams and reinforced AT positions, the enemy switches focus to the left flank. The RAF is called into destroy a column of infantry carriers seen coming toward the village

Scratch three enemy infantry squads and their transports

Well hidden AA platforms are moved forward to prevent any other RAF incursions, behind these M-8 helicopters provide support and recon for advancing enemy troops

Challenger tanks are moved up on the left to counter the AA platforms

The Taking of Baisha Village (cont):-

The Challengers remain on station to guard the left flank - long enough for their locations to be dialled in by the enemy artillery spotter

the spotter also sends artillery into the right flank

Under the chaos of the barrage T72s enter the right

Lynx engage the unloading infantry on the right

Concealed from the AT troops the T72s engage the Lynx

The Lynx move back as the M-8 providing recon for the artillery begins firing on their position

A Eurofighter soon sorts that problem

Your killing me with this screens...it makes it seem like it would be playable for me, even though I have a rough time with these RTS games....my resolve is weakened.

Hmmm...that's encouraging. I keep buying the games in this series, playing them once and then never again due to the click-fest nature of the game engine. But your screens Geek and knowing that the speed is more reasonable might change my mind. Can you now play solo with a reasonable OOB or is it still that whole unlocking a deck thing?

Time to go watch some LP's on Youtube...

the game gives you a starter deck to play with in skirmish - i prefer skirmish much more than campaign, but will eventually play the campaign once ive honed my skills in skirmish.

For building my own deck i just watched a lets play for building a UK deck, the guy explained what and why he was choosing, then watched a lets play of the deck in use - played a skirmish game and thought, nope thats not right for me i need more command vehicles, or maybe more SAS and narrowed it down that way

In terms of gameplay, i missed EE but in ALB the alarm would go off and say casualties in sector X and by the time id found sector X, id been over run and i had no idea what id lost and where - now as soon as you see some enemy coming over bridges or incoming armour, just hit bullet time, and move your forces around like you would any other nice paced RTS and then press normal time again - if its getting out of hand just press it again and make the necessary changes - simple as and has opened the game much wider for me than ALB ever was
