So i bought the deluxe WITE package while it's on sale. Don't know that i'll ever be competent enough to play the GC but it has quite a few smaller scenarios to play. I only have a couple hours in and i've done as much reading of the manual and AAR's as playing but i got to say this game is easy to jump and push counters around. I've only just barely scratched the surface of this game with its mountain of detail. I started with the road to minsk a 3 turn scenario and after a clumsy first turn this is what i came up with, wonder if the pocket will hold, its kinda loose. If it does i'll secure with the infantry  and push the mobile troops onward. I was going to go for a double pocket but that was a little grandiose, i do have some armor at minsk on the right of the screen shot.

The look of the game is so different?  Is that modded?

yea i have 2 map mods and 2 counter mods im trying out to see which combination i like. The pocket held but ran out of fuel on turn 3 and couldn't get the last objective. can't figure out how to fuel drop, the manual tells you what it is, but not how to don't it.

JH - where did you hear about that game? Is it online only? Reminds me of Mechwarriors (now there's a game that needs an update). I thought one was in the works some time ago, but I can't look just now - off to an air show.
