People have a God-Given right to bitch about the weather and thusly, an equally God-Given right to bitch about people bitching about the weather.

I infer from that comment that people can also bitch about people bitching about people bitching about the weather...

Denver is getting its first real scorcher this weekend.  The recent shifts in climate change have been fairly gentle to Colorado, but most weather shifts are benign until they're not!

It helps that CO started getting aggressive about managing water consumption 15 or 20 years ago.  That made water more expensive, but it also meant that urban economies haven't been hit quite as hard by extended periods of drought.

For the agricultural sector, there's not nearly as much to be done when the rain doesn't fall.  Shift to free-range ranching, I guess?

Phoenix has broken several heat records in the past weeks; I think I read somewhere that yesterday was the highest since records have been kept.

People in a Free Society have a right to bitch about anything, even when it's not Football Season. There's been a huge fight over water here in Fla. for decades. Most people's wells have to be dug deeper and deeper each year to get to the Water Table. But it hasn't stopped building new construction that uses it, houses, condos, retirement parks, and even Water Parks. That because tens-of-thousands move here every year. There are other threats to the environment besides Climate Change.

and then there is water... :hair:

I think water deserves its own thread; Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah have been in a huge water rights fight for the last five years or so over the Colorado river. The water situation is made worse because Arizona has taken a laissez faire approach to ground water rights, and this has been abused by domestic and foreign interests. For example, a few years back, a Saudi company bought desert farmland, pumped as much unregulated ground-water as it could, and grew water intensive crops like alfalfa to ship back to Saudi Arabia. Not to mention the crazy no-holds barred housing expansion from domestic housing developers. Arizona is probably a handful of years away from water restrictions. Water cut-off is already happening in at least one rural area on the edge of Phoenix; residents there are having to pay high prices for trucked-in water.

It seems to me that in the US nobody really argues about sports anymore... I wish they would.
