This finally has an early access release target of November 2024. I've requested press code as a build is apparently available.

This is really the first "serious" military title coming from the new Microprose catalog that I am excited about. From where I'm sitting, it looks awesome and I hope it is a smashing success!

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing.

I love the juxtaposition between the Spitfire and the Fat Amy.

My dad used to take me to air shows when I was little. Those planes grabbed my imagination and never let go.

VR Gaming / New VR Mech Sim!
Last post by Jarhead0331 - Yesterday at 08:50:38 AM
I know there are not a lot of VR guys around here, but I came across a new game in early access that really caught my attention. I've posted a lot about VTOL VR, which in my view was revolutionary for flight simming. To this day, without third-party hardware and software, there are still few sims that are designed to let the player interact directly with the cockpit in the virtual space. This is why VTOL VR remains a top pick.

OVRLRD is a new game that was released in early access last week and it is very similar to VTOL VR, except with giant mechs!!! The complexity of the cockpit and its instrumentation is really awesome and this game is filled with so much potential. There are already a lot of different weapons systems, sensors, controllable drones, and a lot of other systems that make the game feel deep and immersive.

It is rough and has a long way to go, but the foundation is extremely solid and I hope the developer continues to see this one through.

I went to Duxforfd Battle of Britain Air Show at the weekend (14th Sep). I took over 700 photos and ended up with about 80 useable ones...and not all of these are even good. My photographic skills have become very sketchy of late and I don't know if it's me or the lens (which I bought second hand and it doesn't always take pictures even though it seems to have focus and other times it'll take a photo when it doesn't have focus!)

Anyway - here's what I thought were worthy of keeping.

Quote from: solops on September 28, 2023, 09:22:20 AMBig new 1.4 beta patch out today! Addresses loading times, game extension, new ship hulls, AI and lots of other stuff. The devs say they still have lots more to do. I am really looking forward to trying it out, as this is one of my top games this year. Unfortunately, Shadow Empires has sucked me in again...Just..can't...quit.......Help!

I am a fan of the game...

But, is it just me? Or, do ships look a little more cartoonish now? Somehow ships seem to have "stubby," manga-like effect, with huge turrets that don't seem to fit well. There was always a bit of this IMHO. I fired-up the game after many months of not touching it, and the "stubby" effect seems to be worse; to me anyway.

Not a game killer for me...but a slight pull back from that good ole' "suspension of disbelief" factor.

Almost like something Akira Toriyama would have done...almost....

There was a second post with links to casino type games. I deleted it. I kept this one because it's actually not a bad thread idea.

Gotcha, never saw the second post.
