Against the Storm: Dark Fantasy 4x City Builder

This one launched a few days ago at a 35% discount until 12/21 (it's coming out of Early Access after more than a year, where it got consistently rave reviews--95% positive on Steam out of 16,000+ reviews). 

Any impressions from folks here?  What's new about it?  I'm an eventual buy but wanted to know if I should splurge for the discount or let this one season on the vine for another few months, as Week 1 purchases can be hit and miss (e.g., Distant Worlds 2).
