French combat operations in the Central African Republic. Would make a nice scenario to game.

Very cool footage.  I had no idea the French were on the ground engaging rebels in Central Africa this recently.

The weapons firing around 3:35 sound quite heavy...any idea what they are? Assuming some kind of heavy machine gun.

Sounds like the 25mm gun on a the VBCI (a French IFV). Its the Giat M811. Basically, a Bushmaster.

I think if I ever heard that in real life I would crap myself. The couple of times I have been to a range, people around me brought some really heavy-sounding pieces and they were...impressive, to say the least. To face that in real life, on the opposite end...I can't imagine.
