Sea King replacements are far behind schedule and some question whether Sikorsky will ever deliver.

At this rate we will have new patrol frigates before these choppers appear!  >:(

Sadly, it would appear your comment may not be that far-fetched.

Now it appears that Sikorsky could cancel the deal since Sikorsky is taking a heavy loss on the current contract even without penalties.

Any time is a good time for pie.

Longdan

So this is a lose/lose deal for everybody.  Oh, Canada!

In other words, fairly typical, big ticket military procurement for Canada.

And to think if they had just bought the LH101 in the first place, this whole fiasco could have been avoided.

I'd like to see how much the contract changed since 2004.. Fly by wire controls, a new GE engine, and who knows what else. Sikorsky can whine all they want, AFTER they soaked Canada for a decade SUDDENLY they don't want to deliver on the contract?

Longdan

How much has this deal cost so far with no freaking helis?
Watching a Sea King firing up on the ramp with the crew chief standing by with a fire extinguisher
is certainly amusing, especially when you are rewarded by a huge puff of black smoke and a flurry
of frenzied fire fighting...but I don't think that is supposed the happen to "the one that runs".

GDS_Starfury

we love you to death.  why do you really need a funtioning military?  really.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

it comes down to that 'no ones messing with my little brother' thing.

It's lose-lose for us.  We stop trying to have a military, and then Southern Big Brother says "carry some of your own gd weight, and stop relying on us to carry it all."
Any time is a good time for pie.

The only plausible military threat to Canada has been the USA.  Thanks for not invading.
Since you haven't tried to come over for about a hundred years we thought we might
use the money for something else.  Like buying votes in Quebec.  Or hospital bills.
Your patronizing attitude is okay, we are used to it.  :P
