Medal of Honor Recipient Bennie Adkins of Opelika, Alabama passed away due to complications from Coronavirus.  He was 86 years old.

He won the Medal of Honor for heroism in Vietnam.  I met him and General Hal Moore during my 30+ years in Auburn.

Story can be found at: https://www.oanow.com/news/local/medal-of-honor-recipient-bennie-akins-passes-away-after-bout-with-covid-19/article_ca059a7f-593f-56ac-913e-b658aa443ec8.html

The only good news from this is he was released from the hospital and got to see his wife and talk to family members before the complications killed him.

Rest in Peace and May God Have Mercy on your Soul Bennie.
