So the end of turn 6 is here and this is what we have:

My bombers about to start their bomb runs on the French Army units, while SDR's bomber continue to plow forward.
One dogfight broken up as the Hurri's scurry and I'm trying to continue to tie up the other squadron.

On the other side of the map SDR's Blenheim's are about to start their bomb run while I try again to blast them for the sky.
Also my flak should see some action this turn.  ^-^
Above all that move of our glorious forces are stream west to do some follow up bombing.

The Wing displays look like this:

From these we can see that SDR is actually winning at this point with 2 VP's, one for each of the 109 and Ju87.
My score is only 1 for the single Hurricane shot down. This coming turn I hope to get lots morefrom bombing.....

With my Hurricanes broken and running for home, Bart's Stukas have a clear run at the French troops and tanks.  The ground troops throw up some volleys of small arms fire but unsurprisingly fail to score any hits.

On the other side of the map, the Blenheims continue on towards their target.  They're unescorted and about to receive a visit from some Bf 109s just as they start their attack run against the bridge.

Barthheart

Both my Ju87's do their job well and 50% of each of their bomb loads hit the targets. This heavily damages each and nets me +3VP for he tanks and +2VP for the troops..

At the other end of the map, my heavy flak takes a shot at the trailing Blenheim squadron and misses.

The 109's however have better luck and shoot down the straggler and another bomber in the forward group. O0

My guys have pretty shaky nerves.  The lead Blenheim squadron got disrupted after Bart knocked two of them out of the sky.
They managed to hit nothing in return.

The high alt dogfight between my Hurricanes and the 109s continues.  I managed to score a kill but our ammo is depleted and we'll probably end up breaking for home this turn.

Silent Disapproval Robot

Well, the good news is my Hurricanes didn't break but they didn't manage to do much good either.  They somehow managed to chase down the fleeing 109s, get them in a turn fight and only damage one.

The Blenheim bombers braved a wall of flak while trying to bomb the bridge.  Bart's guns swatted 3 of them out of the sky and threw their aim off.  The leading squadron managed to drop their bombs on target but didn't do any damage to the bridge.  The trailing squad is lining up for their attack run now.

The more I see of this game the more I want it. Will be eagerly reading this AAR. Thanks, gents.  O0

It's superb..and plays well solo.

So here we are at the start of turn 9. The top most 109 flight has broken and is trying to flee off the map while being harassed by SDR's Hurricane squadron.
There's a bit of a mix up in F4 as my 109 flight makes a climbing attack on some Battle bombers and some Hurricanes join the fun.
Down low my Ju87's are making their way home after a successful dive bombing run.

Barthheart

On this end of the map, more Ju87's continue toward their target with a 109 squadron above and behind as escort.
A squadron of 109's is circling in R6 waiting for good targets.
The lower squadron of 109's is just waiting for the Blenheims to clear the flak before diving back in.
Flak getting ready for next targets.

And a look at the state of our forces at the start of turn 9:

My glorious forces:

and SDR's ratty RAF:

Barthheart

Argh! My 109 dive out of the sun on to a group of lumbering Blenheim's and total wiff on the shot.  :tickedoff:

My Flak defending the bridge dose marginally better by only causing a cohesion check on the bombers dropping bombs on the bridge. :buck2:

Sad... just sad.....

Silent Disapproval Robot

I managed to slightly dent a stop sign on your bridge and scratch a little paint.  Victory!

Barthheart

Turn 10 was almost uneventful.... until my 109s caught up with some Blenheims after they bombed my bridge.  O0

Here's what the skies look like now.

Over the British troops my Stukas are running for home, while his evil Hurris attack my fleeing 109s.

Over my bridge my 109s exact revenge on the Blenheims for scratching the paint on my beautiful bridge.

And the Wing cards tell of the carnage...

German

British

Still more bombers from each side moving in for the kill and a few fighters still buzzing about to defend them.

Barthheart

It's now turn 12 and things are thinning out. SDR's Battles have dropped their loads early and are scooting for home after being tallyed by fresh 109 squadrons.... probably a good choice.
The 109s are going to try and run them down anyway. My last 2 ju87s are still on route for a final bombing run.

Both side are pretty beat up after much dogfighting and bomber bouncing.

German wing status:

British wing status:

If my bombing runs are poor it might be close on points for who wins!

Silent Disapproval Robot

I think the Battles are in for a lot of pain.  Having that last Hurricane squadron break due to loss of cohesion after bouncing the Stukas meant the Battles lost what little fighter cover there was and now have to face two fresh flights of 109s.  I'm running them back home and have them down on the deck in a tight formation.  Hopefully they can at least knock down a few 109s and drive them off quickly.  These Battles are very fragile though.

Silent Disapproval Robot

Sorry for the lack of updates folks.  The map got pretty static so there wasn't a lot to update via screenshots.

My Fairey Battles had no escort and didn't fancy braving a dozen or so Bf109s plus heavy flak so they jettisoned their bombs early and ran for home.  They just didn't run fast enough and the 109s caught them and knocked a few out of the sky.

The only bright spot as far as the Allies were concerned was the stalwart defence of the ground troops.  They managed to down 4 Stukas with small arms fire and prevented the dive bombers from doing too much damage.

Bart pulled off a German victory with a final points differential of +16 in his favour  (30 German VP versus 14 British).   Killing 7 Blenheims definitely tipped the balance as each one of those was worth 2VP compared to 1VP for every other type of aircraft in this scenario

Good job Bart!  Next up, the Pacific.
