I need a new plan.  Attacking Heraklion with a larger force would be possible if things went well elsewhere PLUS it would provide a possible
route to intercept or block the evacuation of forces defending Crete....blocking the port at Heraklion itself even.

So time to bring in more forces on the morning of the 22nd and avoid scattering paratroopers earlier or onto the airfield.  Crashing the Ju-52s on the
beach should work okay too:

So crashing on the beach to the East went well, and now for the bicycle recon and motorcyclists to slam into the Australians from the West.  The motorcyclists might encounter the Australians and Commandos hiking north from Tymbali...speaking of motorcycles -- it looks like many of the pictures of crashed Ju-52s were taken from a German motorcycle.  But here is the onslaught slicing into the Heraklion (last-chance-for-evacuation from the Eastern half of Crete) port at 3pm:

The nightmare of midnight motorcycle attack...yes its approaching nightfall and the motorcyclists and bicycle recon troops look like they have a good chance of simply overrunning the airfield or at least collapsing the defense:

But no...everything went wrong.  Motocyclist morale isn't all that high...historically they started well -- ramming the beach and blowing the bows off their boats, but things just wound downhill at the last minute.
