Are there any decent card driven WW2 aerial combat games out there?

I'm off to check BBG, but wanted to ask the fine folks here for their .02c (.005c for our Canadian neighbors)

Anything else besides Down in Flames?

Down in Flames is the only card driven ones I know of... unless you count Wings of Glory WWII which is card driven minis.

DiF is probably it for CDG.

What's the bat for? Cards have rounded edges?

Barth, my wife is Canadian, so Canada can't be all bad  O0

Just watched a couple videos of the game and it looks pretty decent enough. I'll try and pick this up on sale somewhere.

That just means you have good taste.  O0

DiF is actually a pretty good game. There's a few addons for it and it plays fast.

Why card driven?

By the way Wings of Glory doesn't have to be played the minis. There are cards that represent the planes and can be used to play the game. Good for travel. But you still need a 4'x4' play surface.

Have you seen Table Air Combat - not card driven but an interesting game of WW2 air combat nonetheless - and very cheap to pick up...

Dang, that looks pretty slick.

I didn't know Wings of Glory could be played w/o the mini's.

Damn, now I have to check out all 3!  O0

Looking for which ever game can handle solo play since I have no opponents

Barthheart

Well DiF and WoG both have "hands" of cards and hidden choices. Not impossible to play solo. WoG is easy enough that you could teach your wife to play, at least the base game is.

TAC has no cards and no hidden info. It plays quick and in a small foot print area, 2'x2' is usually big enough. Also easy enough for spousal gaming.
It's print and play though so you have to make your own parts.

There's a good solo ruleset for WoG up on BGG.

Also, if you want solo, check out B-17 Flying Fortress Leader from DVG.  It's card driven and great!
