One of my favorite authors.  I've read 1776, the Pioneers, the Path Between the Seas, and the Wright Brothers.  Currently reading his biography of Truman and hope to read John Adams, both Pullitzer prize winners.  Appeared in Ken Burns Civil War series.  Died two months after his wife of 68 years.

Also one of my favorites...Brooklyn Bridge is one of my favorites of all time. RIP

Sad news, I have read many of his books as well.

Two of his books surprised me, and I didn't think I would like them going in. But once I finished them I really appreciated what McCullough brought to the table with them. Now both of these books are among my favorites:

They are:

-The Greater Journey, about Americans in Paris during the 19th century and the many cultural ties the US had with France.

-The Pioneers, about the settlement of the Ohio River Valley in the late 18th and early 19th century.
