Title: Flash Point: Fire Rescue
Post by: Jack Nastyface on December 28, 2012, 11:03:05 PM
Gentles all,

Highly recommend Flash Point: Fire Rescue as a great, cooperative family game.  Picked this one up for Christmas and am enjoying it with wifey and the kids (girls ages 8 and 11).  The basic family game is simple enough to learn, and there are a set of advanced rules that make the game more challenging.  At least two supplements are now available, as well.  Game setups in about 5 to 10 minutes, and takes about 1/2 hour to play one game.  Unlike other co-op games, this one is neither too simplistic or too advanced (shadows over camelot, LoTR).  I tried to play Forbidden Island sometime ago, but I just can't get into the whole "cards as the playing surface" concept.

I am still hoping one of the my kids will want to come back to Wings of War, but in the meantime, this is definately a worthy purchase.

Agreed, it really is a good co-op. And the advanced bits are all fairly modular, so it's easy to just add a couple at a time.

the one downside : the art is pretty bad. It seriously looks like the guy raided a mid-90's era CD-ROM of clip art.
