Title: Carter, Trump and USA Wars
Post by: airboy on December 04, 2020, 06:26:19 PM
In my lifetime, President Carter was the only President who did not start or expand any wars during his term in office.

Barring disaster, President Trump will be the 2nd President who did not start or expand any wars during his term in office.

I recently realized these facts.  Not something anyone in the media ever talk about.

But Trump started multiple trade wars that will linger on for quite a while.

But I agree that Trump used the military less than most of his predecessors.

His first experiments didn't go that well, with the navy manoeuvres in the pacific where ships were lost.

Somehow I think that has to do that Trump and the high officers of the army didn't get on well. I think he didn't quite know how to get an edge on them. The military has standards that are somewhat bullshit-proof.
