Well I don't use that add-on, nor do I use Google Chrome, so I should be okay.  Still, it's disturbing, yeah.

Flaws can and will be found in any software.  What's key is the developer's attitude when a flaw is discovered.  AVG seem to have responded well here, although the article is very light on detail.
