Gaming desks and workstations
« on: September 09, 2019, 08:43:50 PM »
My old office furniture did not survive being moved out of my office for the renovation project...so, I’m going to need something new.

The last one I was using had a very large main piece with a long and wide desktop surface. There was also a second smaller desk positioned in an L-shaped configuration. This worked well and was functional, but it was more office and less gaming.

I’m looking for something that balances studio desk functionality for a multi monitor setup with large deep surface space so that a lot of gear can coexist with a clean surface to double for office work...

Any suggestions?

Your question reminded me of the early Navy Tactical Data System (NTDS).  Space was always an issue.

I use a similar "L" Shaped layout, that incorporates a bookshelf on one side of the "L".  That gives a reasonable amount of space for books and writing.  Do you have sufficient space in your office for an additional small table behind you?   Possibly a simple collapsible table, such as those available at Walmart? That would be a cheap, and easily removable addition.

^Yes. My set-up has the traditional L-shaped desk and return and another desk on the other side of the room. I usually have three rigs running at once. Two of them are connected to a KVM switch.
