Seas off Norway, May 1942

Here's a relatively simple and even scenario from PQ-17...I'm sort of practicing for when the Norway 1940 expansion comes out.  Here we see that Trinidad (T) and Prinz Eugen (E) are both trying to get to where they can get repairs.  No convoys are involved.  Historically the Germans won and sank HMS Trinidad and got the Prinz Eugen back for repairs.  It could have been tricky since the USS Washington was in Iceland and other battleships and carriers were on hand as well.  So we will see via the crudest possible solitaire (increased randomness in location and recon) allows for a more dramatic set of events:

And well...as the sun comes up on day 4 of Operation Magic Flute (the name of the German operation obviously), the Kriegsmarine has plenty of fuel and an okay to break out into the Atlantic but Bomber Command has hit the Tirpitz and the Luftwaffe could not find any targets in the suddenly not-so-good visibility.

But HMS Trinidad still has to limp home and Prinz Eugen and 2 DDs still might head for Kiel:
