Perfect game for this setting I say. Might actually finally make me load arma3 onto my pc.

They have their competition cut out for them. The Unsung Vietnam mod is Exceptional with a capital "E".
Sounds good to me!

It seems the DLC is a "creator DLC" which may be the unsung mod?
"The Arma 3 Creator DLC program enables selected outside developers to publish original new content for Arma 3 as commercial DLC on Steam. The proceeds of Arma 3 Creator DLC: S.O.G. Prairie Fire will be shared between Savage Game Design (developer), Bohemia Interactive (publisher), and Valve (digital distributor)."

I don't have Arma3 but this is interesting. Some very nice looking screenshots in that link.
Nifty news, indeed.
Unsung is great, but having it as dlc with a dedicated sp campaign will be cool. Also a dedicated Vietnam island shipping with it.
This was released....was thinking of getting but seems like single player content lacking, mostly more training type stuff. Maybe once people come out with a lot more single player scenarios, I'll jump in.

Yeah. It's another bullshit co-op campaign. So God damn annoyed. I don't know why Bohemia keeps doing that. So frustrating.
The older iterations of Arma had AI you could put into co-op missions. I guess they got rid of that? I was annoyed to find I was Rambo running around the Ho Chi Minh Trail by myself.
Rimmy's crew do the campaign (to be continued)...
Wolfpack's more sober version:
Deity Empires
I watched somebody review it a little and was really disappointed at how the arma3 engine has aged graphically? I played ARMA3 for about 5 minutes total many years ago and thought the graphics were amazing at release. Now it reminds me of operation flashpoint. Was it just the review I was watching? Do the graphics hold up still? Or is it now a game you have to love the mechanics so much that you can ignore the poor graphics.
It may be somebody's graphics settings. Forests/jungles are notoriously high-poly, and to keep frame rates reasonable on an older machine they may have dialled it down. I think the game still looks amazing, but I don't know what you're comparing it to.
Comparing it to Battlefield1 and Post Scriptum.
I will download ARMAIII (already own that) and see how it has held up.
Yes...it is a very ugly game. :idiot2:

ARMA 3 is undoubtedly aging, but I'm comfortable saying that it is aging very well. There is nothing else on the market yet that does everything that this sim does.
I did see some single player content start, including the dynamic mission generator....so may jump in at some point this weekend. Can only imagine that modders will continue creating stuff for it, at least enough to pay the $20.
Anyone playing this? I got the Dynamic Recon Ops mission that was ported over for it and as a single-player it's been a blast. Almost makes me want to try MP.

Not yet; I'm stupid rusty in ARMA and the recent spate of long work hours surveying in the heat just makes me a wrung out, old, fat dishrag by the time I make it home. So I'm not inclined to fire up the game, much less eat, by the time I recover enough.
Having said that, I'm digging the YouTube stuff people are putting out for this.
^You should have been a writer. 'wrung out, old, fat dishrag' is quite the mental image.
Thank you!
-did Basic at Jackson back in the late 90's and have loathed this part of the world in the Summer/Autumn months since. "Dry heat," is workable for me now, but this sodden, hot and horrid mess just runs a fellow out and no amount of Cheladas can fix this noise the older I get.
Sounds like you are younger than me and that makes me feel...even older :/

I'll be 47 very soon. Just typing that feels surreal.
You youngsters are funny. Just turned 70 last Saturday. Note my signature. :)
^And your handle!
Right behind you Geezer just turned 69. Weird and wild times we live in yes?
I think I'm happy to be 69 and not 49.
I was way into ArmA3 when it came out but haven't touched it in a few years.
The time it's going to take me to get back into it is intimidating. And the reflexes
aren't what they used to be. So I might get my a$$ kicked by the AI.
