Chiming in late, but let me encourage you to not limit yourself to WW2. There's a few hundred years of interesting history out there with games covering nearly all of it. Nothing wrong with WW2 per se, but I find that a lot of players start there because those games are plentiful and there are opponents...and then never look into anything else.


Barth is spot on in this regard, despite him being both Canadian and a miscengenator of game components. His advice is good, just never let him take you out into the woods alone.
