Title: College Football 2022
Post by: JasonPratt on September 03, 2022, 01:33:23 PM
...wait, there isn't a thread for this yet!?

Good grief, I have no useful knowledge, or news, sigh...

Fine. FINE! I'll just post pre-season sketches from SEC Shorts to get us caught up:

Well, spent my day in Auburn with my new girlfriend having a Sushi lunch and hitting up the Tiger Walk.

Didn't watch the game but it was nice to be on campus again and good to see football season in full swing.  Don't have high hopes for my Tigers this year but still a fun day.

Did y'all see Airboy!? He and his wife were there, too.

Meanwhile:

Subtitlers: "throat clearing sound of realizing that Florida is so back, there isn't even a cleat toss joke in this whole sketch" -- although being quite the baroque operators, they made also made that a cleat toss joke anyway.

No but I figured he was there somewhere.

The tailgate and Tiger Walk were well attended.

Fantastic game last night. FSU beat LSU 24-23 by blocking the Extra Point kick that would've tied the game after time ran-out.  :o

Well, UT Vols are now 4-0 (though only 1-0 in the SEC, though that was against Florida, though Florida hasn't been great in recent years, though neither have we, and Florida just spent some monkey-paw fingers to haxor the cheat codes in the game to nearly come back for a win....)

So, I guess it's the future!  :coolsmiley:

The SEC is Georgia, Alabama and everyone else right now.

Auburn's "win" today was a case of two awful teams trying to out incompetence each other and Missouri somehow managing to make two of the worst plays I've ever seen to become toilet bowl champions.

The sad thing is, that was the worst result for Auburn.  Now we have to endure platitudes from Harsin for a week before heading off for execution to LSU.

The 2012 Auburn team would crush Harsin's version of the Tigers.  They're the most unmotivated and worst team I've ever seen on the plains, ever.

The Gators are having a great year...for anyone playing them that is.  :hide:

An Orange Tide is swamping the field at Neyland tonight -- absolutely psychotic game, but Vols finally, FINALLY beat Bama again, for a 7-0 record now. (Only a crazy person would count the Crimson Tide out in regard to the rest of the season, tho.)

Back in my college days, those goalposts would not only be down, they'd probably be carried out Cumberland Avenue all the way to Kingston tonight, after a win like this.

Congrats.

Yeah, there's chaos outside right now.  Slamming doors, people throwing stuff.

Gunfire out at Alabama Shakespeare.

Tide fans are going to shed some blood tonight.  I'm hiding my Orange and Blue.

Ding dong the witch is dead!

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34918727/auburn-fires-football-coach-bryan-harsin-less-2-seasons

This may go down as one of the worst hires in Power 5 history.  In just under two years he completely destroyed Auburn's program, cost the AD that hired him his job, and ran off a significant amount of talent on the roster.  It's not lost on anyone that he ran off the 2nd Generation Legacy QB who literally grew up in the program who is now a dark horse candidate for Heisman in Oregon.

I'm not sure Auburn is going to be able to recover from Harsin's short tenure.  It's going to take a special hire and I'm curious to see who is going to be brave enough to take it on.

I for one hope its about to be Prime Time on the Plains.
