Some of us may recall that the current version of the first Witcher game is itself a remake/remaster of the original (extra-buggy borked) release.

So it is with great something that I have just learned that the first remake of the first Witcher game will be remade at last!

From a Steam press release:

"Collaborating with Fool's Theory on the project is just as exciting, as some of the people there have been previously involved in The Witcher games. They know the source material well, they know how much gamers have been looking forward to seeing the remake happen, and they know how to make incredible and ambitious games. And although it will take some time before we're ready to share more about and from the game, I know it'll be worth the wait."

At last! -- no longer will I have to be fuddled with modern graphic card fixes to things like the sun appearing as a glowing spot beneath the horizon at dusk and nighttime!  >:D

More seriously, I'm glad to hear it's being remade for compatibility and presentation purposes, up to the standards now set by Witcher 3 (and its expansions).

I welcome this as the original game, even though 'enhanced' now, is growing a bit elderly. We can only enhance an old man so much.

I am intrigued.
