Distant Worlds 2 "Aurora" free Update is now available on Steam

Is there some way to manage fleets and their use of fuel? The AI seems to be brain dead. 90% of the time, my fleets are low or simply out of fuel and then when I need them to actually do something they are useless. I know there are fleet refueling options in the AI management UI, but they don't seem to make much of a difference for me. Also, when a fleet is low or out of fuel and I click on the button for them to refuel, it always seems like they pick a space station or refueling hub on the opposite side of my empire. I mean what the hell? There is a refuel site in the next system, but for some reason, they want to take 7 years to travel across the universe. Are they looking for cheaper gas or something?

Where have you seen that it is coming out for free? I don't think so?

DLC : not free (price will probably be revealed on release)

I saw somewhere mention $9.99, indicated it was on some sort of broadcast.  No idea if accurate.
