...i was always looking for a POV action camera ... and finally broke down and got me a GoPro HD Hereo2
(http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero2-motorsports-edition/)
weather is bad so i didn't used it on MTB single trail ride recording yet, but i am playing with the timelapse and slow mo functionions... and overall familiarisation / exploring its limitations
the camera doesn't like close distance shot but for nature macro shots short focus distance is needed
so i patched a dioptre value 5 achromatic lens in a 55mm filter-holder in-front of it with a clmap-DIY -adapter (https://www.grogheads.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.tinypic.com%2F2mmvfwo.jpg&hash=af2f9d6086ef775e6b073904610cad736e93e331)
first results were nice, so i ordered a more sturdy solution (http://www.snakeriverprototyping.com/BlurFix.html ) which was constructed with scuba use in mind...
....in the meantime i got a nice sunset/moving clouds timelapse video while testing the lowlight-limitations of the cam
i just put it on you tube for you to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vBvsXt0f-I

...you guys love tits ;) ...here is one :P

Awesome. The bluetit is my favorite garden bird. We get quite a few on the feeder, and a few times coaltits.
Very cool, looking forward to more videos.

Bob, i am sure you will like my newest upload ;)
it was shot before the other, so more vignetting, i also tried to compensate the overexpose ...but not satisfied with the
'postprocessing / filtering' -whatchamacallit results yet... but also wouldn't hold it back any longer
...so here it is:

That is just briliant - thanks for the link :)
...i just did a macro lens plus 12x super-slowmo test with GoPro Hero2 8)
its in WVGA resolution and a little grainy in the background, well thats the price to pay for getting 120fps out of the cam

(i played a little video artist ... better watch it quick, before it may get taken down cause of possible background music right problem ...i am not sure they placed an add for the artist... but dunno)
Excellent - most of the RC guys I know have Hero cams mounted on their boats, planes, helos or drones. It seems to be a real growth market !!!

what pulled me over to the GoPro was the video where a teenage guy put a Lego Space Shuttle on a weather balloon and the cam worded at 38km and survived the landing (well, and lots of review- videos on YT comparing the different cam-brands and the Hero2 to the older Hero)
MIGMaster, on a side note
now where i have the cam i am on the edge about FPV RC flight too ;)
...was looking into a Gaui 500s interlinked with that new 'GPS/Gyro stabiliser, failsave return to home flight controller' setup (quadcopter) so far ... but i bet its very noisy (for nature shots) and a really expensive toy! and i am a total RC noob ...but would be a extream cool additional hobby to start. Well, '
The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys' ;)
Does one of your RC buddies operates a Gaui 500?
Mike, I'm not a wabbit, I'm tired 8)
I've been shooting a bunch of surfing with my GoPro. Great invention!

None of my buddies has one - but I keep eyeing the kits at various RC vendors. Some of the scratch build ones with kit parts are just wild !
Once you start doing a little RC, you just get the bug !
HobbyKing has some neat kits and decent prices if you are looking for an intro to rc without throwing out wads of cash ! Here are some the kit parts you can buy for a DIY project:
