Came across this interesting story about a gas station owner in Oregon who bought a B-17 in 1946, flew it home (after crashing a different one), and stuck it on top of his gas station. It stayed there for almost 70 years. Now the "Lacey Lady" is under restoration to flying condition in Salem, Oregon.
