That's...interesting, to say the least.  Hopefully the Air Force takes a more serious look at the problem.

We've been making planes that fly above fresh air since the Second World War.

I know this is a complicated piece of machinery but if it's going to be a manned aircraft, one would think that getting the oxygen system right would have been a priority when the blueprints were first drawn up.

Forget about doing it right the first time, this has been a problem for 2 years and the AF and Lockheed Martin still aren't sure what the problem is.

After investigating one F-22 crash, the AF concluded it was pilot error because the pilot lost control of the aircraft after trying to activate the emergency O2 system when the main system failed.

Pilot error? Seriously?

Yeah, really? If I were that guy's family I'd be incoherent with rage after reading these stories. At the very least the AF could make a public statement that they are 'revisiting' their original conclusion as to the 'pilot error' finding.

Agreed. It takes a certain kind of jai ne se quoi to be so corrupt and stupid as to build a bad system and then blame the user when it kills them.

We need a word for that in English. Maybe it's "fucktard."

I'm not a big fan of any words ending in -tard, excepting maybe Leotard. And then it would depend on who was wearing it...

I propose we adopt 'Bureaufucker' instead. ;)
