how the hell does one get this done?  the pc is still dead and Im using this filthy whore sellout macbook pro thingy.  every keystroke fells like Im playing with the nipple hair of a Belarus hooker.  I need some pc wargaming!
what to do?
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

put BootCamp on a partition and install a windows OS on it

or go play a bunch of Combat Mission games native on the Mac from BattleFront

BootCamp should allow you to do what you need, however you'd have to restart you Macbook to run in Windows.
You could also install a Virtual Machine (like VMWare) on your Mac.  That would run as an application while still in the MacOS environment, however it may be more memory intensive.

What kind of game are you planning to run?  If it's a hog, might want to use bootcamp and run purely in Windows

+1 for Bootcamp. It's pretty slick and the dual booting isn't too bad. I've been doing it with an XP partition for about a year. If you do use Bootcamp, just make sure you make the windows partition big enough. I only did 40GB and I quickly regretted it. Expanding the partition size would require 3rd party software or a reinstall.

the motherboard. what died is still selling for $160 6 years later so I figured why bother to replace when I can save and get all new kit.

It's true.
The Great Convergence is already starting as both Redmond and Cupertino realize the real threats to their Empires are gathering deep in the wilderness. There on the shorelines and Crannogs of the Western Lakes the Steambox tribes are coming together under a new banner while out on the frozen steppes the Cults of Pi innovate new weapons and ways of warfare, slowly gathering their might and embarking on a great crusade to convert the countrysides before finally laying siege to the Vaulted Cybertowers of California.

I'm quite certain it was on a bootleg tape I heard playing in a Wesleyan dorm. Yeah, that was it...
