transfering books to kindle question?

so I just reread the first 2 Honor Harrington books and now I feel like plowing through the whole series again.
the catch here is that most were sent to Iraq and all I have is a cd from one of the recent hardbacks.
before I do the whole google search blah blah blah do any of you have a simple method of taking the cd format and converting it to asomething a kindle library can use?

The CD that came with one of my HH hardcovers, think it was A Rising Thunder, allowed me to open the CD in windows explorer then copy the file format that I wanted to my HD.
