Agreed if they can find a cost effective way to do this it would be huge.

Splitting water to make hydrogen is nothing new, it was a high school chemistry demo.
Remember the range problems of hydrogen cars? This article is a big fat nothing.

Something real would be artificially making kerosene (jet fuel), gasoline, or diesel at net positive energy.
