Title: Japanese Army Command Unified again after 1945
Post by: airboy on April 06, 2018, 06:45:18 PM
The Japanese Army has been split into five groups since 1945.  The Air Force and the Navy have a unified command.  The logic was an attempt to prevent an Army takeover of the government as was done in the 1930s.

This month Japan unified their army into one body with a single commander.  This was done largely in response to Chinese militarism.

Until I read this in the 5/5/2018 Wall St. Journal I had no idea that Japan had such a chopped up army structure.

GOOD!

It's about damned time they stopped beating themselves up over the past. The Japanese are no worse than any other ethnic or national group. They have a great civilization and should be proud of it.

Now, if only Sweden would step up and say "We're OK." They have less of an excuse since they haven't been guilty of evil acts since the days of Charles the XII.
