Tally ho World War II fighter found in Egyptian desert

A World War II RAF fighter, which crash-landed in a remote part of the Egyptian desert in 1942, has been discovered almost intact.




Wonder if its on google earth ?

Amazing that it's so well preserved. You'd think that 70 years sand and wind would have stripped it to bare metal.

It is a P-40. The Brits used a lot of them in NA during the early war.

If we can get it flying, and grab those Spits they found, that should keep us going until 2023 when the JSF comes into service ::)
