My fathers most challenging day in Vietnam
« on: July 28, 2016, 09:04:36 PM »
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I thought you'd appreciate some of his experiences. We also have a video of my father nearly being fragged by one of his own men who had gone crazy, one fellow lieutenant lost an arm and an MP was killed, my dad was lucky to be in the shower at the time and didn't answer a knock on his barrack. Here my dad gets the ridiculous job of getting a useless dump truck behind V.C lines, for nothing more than some extra stripes for his commanding officer. In the C.O's defense he provided my father with full batallion resources to accomplish the mission.  For those interested my father was a 1st LT in the 577 engineer batallion.
