Saint Peter's Tomb
« on: May 10, 2018, 12:05:03 PM »
I've visited this site under the Vatican.  You have to apply for tickets about 6 months in advance.  The tour is limited to about 12 people at a time and you go through a set of doors and security like the opening of the old "Get Smart" TV show.

This is a really interesting story of how the excavation under the Vatican took place and the discovery of Peter's tomb.

The Roman Catholic Church has not declared this to be "official" part of church teaching, but my wife and I personally believe for a lot of reasons that this is the tomb of St. Peter.

I'm putting it here instead of R&P because it is a really interesting historical/archelogical story even if you ignore the religious implications.
