I've read about the Aleutian campaign. The other 4 I didn't know about.
Bizarre stuff indeed.

Thanks for sharing the video, Atilla!  I knew about the Aleutian campaign and the battle at Castle Itter, but the rest were new to me.

Boy, if leading a convoy to and out of the arctic with a pocket map, camouflaging your ships, and utilizing whatever defense you might have on hand isn't Distinguished, I don't know what is.

Aleutian campaign, not many know the US was invaded in WWII!  I doubt many today could even find the Aleutian islands on a map. That's one thing War Games teach is us, how to read a map!

I didn't know Iceland was invaded, all I ever heard was the the US troops took over Iceland before we entered the war from the Brits.
