  After two hours of back and forth fighting, it looks like Waller's Parliamentary forces are slowly gaining the edge (and so they did -- its hard to say why this battle made such an impression on the Royalists -- they took it as a serious defeat though they got away with all their guns and so on -- apparently the fact that the Parliamentary cavalry did very well was the main source of horror):
