A more Hyptothetical Bastogne

  I was going over some German accounts of the battle and apparently on the 18th thru 20th, the ground was too soft for heavier tanks like Shermans and Panthers and so on to move off of the
roads.  So that explains a lot and then it appears the commander of Panzer Lehr sort of over-interpreted a lot of radio intelligence and shell fire and came to the conclusion early on the 20th
that his command was in danger of being encircled.  PLUS the plan in effect on the 18th-19th was for 2nd Panzer to go deep while Lehr and 26 Volksgrenadier masked Bastogne.  PLUS  Lehr was supposed
to stay north of 26 Volksgrenadier -- so here we have 18 Dec at 9am with those assumptions running:
