But I'm not going to lie, the last two months were some of the worst in my life in terms of stress, disappointment, self-doubt and rage. If I can get myself to this sorry watering hole or boot up Crusader Kings II or some visceral thing like Mass Effect 2, I consider it precious time.  :-[
I second Jarhead's question:  What the hell happened?

"Like we need an excuse to drink to anything..." - Banzai_Cat
"I like to think of it not as an excuse but more like Pavlovian Response." - Sir Slash

"At our ages, they all look like jailbait." - mirth

"If we had lines here that would have crossed all of them. For the 1,077,986th time." - Gusington

"Government is so expensive that it should at least be entertaining." - airboy

"As long as there's bacon, everything will be all right." - Toonces

I'll try. But I'm not going to lie, the last two months were some of the worst in my life in terms of stress, disappointment, self-doubt and rage. So what the heck happened man?  Or has this already been explained somewhere, like in the "so there I was" thread?  I can never keep up with that thread.

I'm not sure it is worth going into over the internet. Let's just say a compilation of finishing and editing thesis stress, job market, and personal stuff that my wife and I are facing (together, not versus - thankfully). I'm sure some would think I'm just being a whiner, but individually this stuff piles up. Thanks for the concern though - it is appreciated.
"Now it is no accident all these conservatives are using time travel to teach our kids. It is the best way to fight back against the liberal version of history, or as it is sometimes known... history."

"The purpose of religion is to answer the ultimate question, are we in control or is there some greater force pulling the strings? And if the courts rule that corporations have the same religious rights that we humans do, I think we'll have our answer."

- Stephen Colbert

You know we have your back, SoM. Arguing about politics don't mean shit, you're a good guy. You know where to reach me on Facebook. Don't let this weathered, leather jacket (or face) fool you, you know I care.

SoM I hope that some of the help I gave you when you reached out did some good. I didn't realize it was your time in the barrel. I hope it gets better for you soon. If you need a little career counseling from a professional, let me know. I have a guy who is quite the miracle worker.

It helped, but unfortunately didn't pan out.  :-[
