Approaching 0430, 16th April, 1809

As I said in my e-mail to you all, I need morning orders from some of you.

Clock runs soon!

As I posted in the other game, just a minute ago (except with PD as the umpire):

Note that it can be quite important for OTHER PLAYERS, when you're dispatching them courier messages, to know when (in game time) you sent the message forth. Cyrano will tell you when you're receiving it, but unless the player has told you when he sent it then Cyrano might not (perhaps inadvertently) tell you that.

This accounting for the original time of dispatch became very important for players on both sides of the prior game, in different circumstances. For example, even though there wasn't much of a lag relatively, I had to try to piece together dispatches from East Wing, and the East side of Central Thrust (where I was), to try to infer whether a Prussian division (or two) had faked a road march and then gotten off the road once out of sight, perhaps to cross over to another road nearby while it was still near.

I do try to include SENT times in all missives for the very reason that his Chuck-osity states.

For the players, "wake up" messages will be out THIS EVENING.  I'll give you a couple days to adjust based on what you see or don't see and then run the clock.

This is seriously exciting...well, for me, anyway...

Never let it be said you fellows don't make things interesting.

As you may or may not know, Doug and I have both transferred our umpiring to the Table Top Simulator on PC.  It's a real delight to work with and has made it possible to "live" track each messenger.  I sort of knew this to be the case, but MAN, you guys have put a lot of dudes a-horse...

I went through a period of more than a year when the forum engine seemed to pass along notifications at rare random intervals; and sometimes it would then mass-post a bunch of them in catchup. And some never at all.  :pullhair:

From my perspective things are doing better this year.

He started it, actually. I was fairly skeptical about TTS but it's proved to be the best way to do this. I think the Daleks have been sent to the shelter for adoption.

I will assuredly miss the Daleks.

That said, realizing how rough-hewn my sender-->recipient calculations were relative to doing them "live" makes it worthwhile.

Videos end up a bit ded secksai too...

And, for the record, it would seem we're driving along at a brisk pace of two days every three months!!  Almost.  Because the 17th isn't over.

That isn't even necessarily sarcasm! -- although the first few days of the prior game clicked along faster, there was less combat action at the start by proportion, and we ended up going... what was it, ten days in a year and a half?

Next turn is fatigue calculations and SitReps.

This one may take a bit in order to get everybody up to speed!

Think, though, if you haven't sent them already about overnight orders and what you might like to do come dawn!!
