What a depressing way to start the week, thanks for that.

Man, I still miss my glow-in-the-dark stars & planets on the ceiling of my bedroom.  Even now, there are no words to express how amazingly, impossibly cool I found them to be.

The fact that I was too old for several of those entries when they were first released makes me feel even older.  I've half a mind to hop on my rascal, drive over to Brant's place and fling Centrum Silver vitamin pills at him.

I'm too old/fat to run from you at this point...

#38 is clearly the most soul crushing.

But...WTF did people print with the GameBoy printer?

sigh...I turned forty-freaking-nine this month and I was diagnosed with Celiac disease (can't eat wheat / gluten).  You know what I am going to miss?  BEER!  I can't freakin' drink real beer anymore.  No more Guiness, Innes & Gunn, Harp, Boddingtons...not even a crappy Coors or Budweiser.
That's why I am feeling old...
Now, the problem is, how to divide five Afghans from three mules and have two Englishmen left over.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis Jack. There's no denying it will severely curtail your food and drink options...

But, strange as it sounds, there are gluten-free beers. Some of them are even supposed to taste good. One, in fact, is from Dogfishhead (my favorite brewery for the last few years):

SW,
Hey, thanks for the note.  I've already tried three GF beers - most have been underwhelming.  I would be disinclined to try the Dogfishhead brew because it is a "fruity" beer which I never really liked.  Corona is considered a GF beer because it is below "20 parts per million" rating required for GF foods, so I may be able to stick with that.
To be honest, being GF it's not really that big of a deal for me.  Although I WILL miss good beers and things like Japadogs (a Vancouver thing), I have already lost 7 lbs over the past three months of being gluten free.  I can still eat vietnamese pho, masa tacos, korean bibimbop, etc.  But still...no Guiness.  That's like no sex...

That sux, I did not know it was something that could happen later in life. I used to work with someone that had celiac, I thought it was something she had all her life. I could bring oats or rice to the office with no worries.

The only thing I played with on that list was the sticky hand. The sticky hand was great for pulling in the GF.
