<LINK REDACTED> Signs of a well- estrogenized vagina and cervix observed during the physical examination make the diagnosis of hypothalamic amenorrhea unlikely

A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.
- Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

^OK...I almost ALWAYS delete those spam posts, but I think I'm going to let this one stand, if for no other reason than it bumped this thread, which contains some posts I put a lot of scholarly effort into.  :justice:

And it serves as a good warning for all of us wargamers to get checked for hypothalamic amenorrhea.  We're not getting any younger.

Yes, of course. That too... :headscratch:

I worry about Gus's health you see.  I'd hate to see him non well-estrogenized.

Gusington

There is not one spec of estrogen within me. I am well hydrated, though.

Agreed on the opening post, and a shout-out for that Robert Forczyk book as well. It merits its title. Another shout-out for Jar's summary post here.

As an anecdote from Finnish WW2 history books, many of them have quotes mentioning how delicate the StuG3 Maybach engine was—one had to warm it up carefully before moving on—while the T-34 diesel engines were the opposite: fire 'er up and floor it.

Also, there were quite a few reports on StuG electric fire control failures happening sooner rather than later. While the crews were trained to solve many of them, it was an issue. Such a basic feature. Optics were great, but crew training mattered much more, from what I read.

On the estrogen front, I haven't measured mine, but I agree it seems a good precaution to stay well-hydrated.:beermug[1]:  :beermug[1]:
