Nice and polished. Hope the AI can cope with the rules.

I don't need no AI if there's a hotseat mode.  :smitten:
Is there a hotseat mode?  ???

I am exactly the target audience for this title and I'm really looking forward to its release. While the spotting rule is something I've talked about being a detriment, others have explained how and why it's plausible.

It looks great. I'm not sure what to make of the expanding stacks as I hope they are not always automatic. But I'd have to play it of course first.

Initial impressions;
Great looking map
Awesome counters and graphics
good sound (what is shown)
The message bar on the right could use some colors to separate the good from the bad and distinguish the actions more
Maybe too fast action result windows?

I look forward to more info. There is certainly room for a high production value game of this genre such as this.  Once the groundwork ios done I can envision a plethora of different theaters to explore.

It looks much different than the one Tom Proudfoot put together. Is he not part of this production?

Kudo's. After what seems like a very slow start on the digital side, it looks like some solid products are starting to seep out. One can hope. Isn't there some kind of zombie game in the works also?

Stacks are auto expanding.
Map and counter art is exactly the art used to make the baord games.
Sounds are not yet complete.
Results window display length is user setable.
Tom is again doing this effort.

The board game already covers WWII West, East and African Fronts, Vietnam, Falklands, Mogadishu, WWIII 1985 Germany, Soviets in Afghanistan 1980, Fall of Lybia and soon Grenada 1982. All these are planed for the PC game.

The AI is doing well at the rules so far. And keeps improving.

Pardon my ignorance....

Will there be an editor to make your own scenarios/battles? Does anyone know if the game keeps track of losses after a battle?

Thanks

rocketman

This got my attention for sure. Bring it on!  :bd:
Nice with free engine + module scenario to try things out.

Not sure if the Battle Generator is in yet but should be planned for...
There is a list of losses at the end of scenarios if that's what you mean.

Great news.  A fairly competent AI is a must for me.

Is this the same game as the "Nations at War" thread that is active and recent?

Barthheart

No. Lock N Load Tactical is squad based combat.

Nations at war is company sized units in combat.

Think Squad Leader vs Panzer Blitz, if yer an old AH fan...

Silent Disapproval Robot

Nope.  LnL tactical is squad level combat with individual vehicles.  Nations at War is platoon level.  LnL tactical is the more complex of the two in terms of rules.  Nothing like as heavy as ASL though.  Still very manageable.  I "manage" to screw up half a dozen rules each time I play.  Lots of fun though (unless Barth rolls up in garbage Italian armour and shoots up your only hex with AT capable troops in it and they refuse to rally for the rest of the game).
