I just received in the mail the latest two titles in Hermann Luttmann's "Blind Swords" System. Very much looking forward to getting into both of these over the holidays.

The board game system focuses on the US Civil War at the regimental level, but has also been used to portray the 1870-71 Franco-Prussian War.

The game system balances playability with the chaos of battle through a chit-pull mechanic; confused orders, heroic stands, and sudden reversals are all in the mix (literally - the chit pool).

The two newest games are:

"The Day was Ours: First Bull Run"
"Thunder at Dawn: The Battle of Wilson's Creek"

Both of these are published by Revolution Games

Previous titles have been published by Revolution, Tiny Battle, and GMT.

"The Devil's to Pay: The First Day of Gettysburg"
"Stonewall's Sword: The Battle of Cedar Mountain"
"Thunder in the Ozarks: The Battle of Pea Ridge"
"Longstreet Attacks: The Second Day at Gettysburg"
"Kernstown"
"At Any Cost: Metz, 1870"

I would be interested to hear other's thoughts on the system. And if you haven't tried any of these, and the time period / regimental scale are of interest, I recommend you take a look the offerings at Revolution Games or Tiny Battle Publishing.
