There were some powerful versions of Alex Chilton stuff on This Mortal Coil's 'It'll end in Tears' as well. 'Kangaroo' stands out.


Let's shift gears here a bit as we are on our 80's retrospective:

I find that to be campy and soulless.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

this one managed to be true to the genre, mainstream and widely used without being campy.

The whole 'Fate, up against your Will' thing has a weird reverse Leni Riefenstahl vibe to it though...

Grant Lee Phillips does a pretty credible version on his 'Ninteeneighties' album.

College Radio stations and eclectic record stores were a Gods-send back in the 80s-90s. AFA I can tell from my area at least, both classes of entities are now either defunct or have been assimilated into the Bland Collective.

Makes me wonder how things would have been if the Internet was then what it is now.

You're welcome Star!  Your taste in music is as varied as mine is with similar interests. 

Martok, tell me about it.  There is a lot of good stuff here to listen and too little time to do it. 

I got go grill some burgers and chicken kaboobs now though for company that's due in about 3 hours.  Plus, I've got beer if anyone is interested.   8)
