The whole concept of buying stuff that doesn't exist yet is crazy.

when was the last time you went on a date?  same end game but this game is cheaper.

I just think it's a brilliant marketing strategy.  Most people wouldn't pay $200 for an actual videogame, but a lot will pay that (and more) for a game that hasn't yet been made.  They do so because if it doesn't exist yet it could still become this life-changing experience - once it exists and is just the videogame it was always going to be, then it becomes only worth $50.  It's a sort of Schrodinger's Cat - whilst it's still in the box it could become anything, but once released it is what it is.

I think you just won the internet!  That was the smartest thing I have read on the 'net in a long time.   O0
"As I understand from your communication, Mr. Engle, you're on the brink of self-destruction. May I shake your hand? A brilliant idea! I speak as one who has destroyed himself a score of times.  I am, Mr. Engle, a veteran corpse. We are all corpses here! This rendezvous is one of the musical graveyards of the town. Let me second Rooks compliments. That was an awesome analogy.

+1

and in addition in this ED "Schrödinger's Cat" experiment some spectators in the auditorium think that yelling at the still closed box with the cat or at Schrödinger (in forum shit storms and community outrages ) actually change or save the cat's-state  ...or they can by this revoke a already dead cat inside the box when they feel to smell some stench ooze out of the box ... so it will instead nicely Purrrrr when the box get opened finally (Release)     ;)

and to make things even more complex:
-  one mans 'dead cat' is the other mans 'living pet' and and the other way around also ;)
-  other think the experiment should have been done from the beginning with a dog,
... and so constant complain to Schrödinger and also to Nils Bohr and Heisenberg
-  others didn't even had understood the whole experiment at all, and expect if you had put in a mice, you will surly to get out an elephant or even a raging dinosaur, and always living, of course  ...a living mice is a huge disappointment

well, you cant betray Quantum Physics  8)              ....yet (at the day of writing)

Anyway..

Did the new version get switched over yet?

I just updated mine but didn't know what the situation was.  I don't think there is supposed to be anymore wipes, but I figured there will probably be some kinks to iron out since the update changed a few things.

If anyone gets online with it over the weekend, let us know how it's going.  :)

The wipe will occur November 22 with the Gamma release. No idea what the purpose was of releasing beta 3.9 then the gamma 2 days later

I think it was to test the network software - I found myself in almost a full instance last night - about 20 to 25 players in - very congested at the space port

MikeGER

the Gamma presentation event/party starts today at 20pm GMT (and is aired on Twitch somehow)

Does anybody know when the Gamma will actually get life for the players then?
will this be an "if you are lucky the download will be active barely close to midnight GMT" as with the betas again

are you still talking about the game or is this the most succinct synapses of German porn Ive ever read?
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.
