I took a break from the Japanese music scene and I've been delving into some metalcore/synthwave stuff recently.  really like the Blade Runner/evil AI vibe to the newer Bad Omens stuff.

OK, back to Nippon.  (their stock market just tanked.  The girls need the clicks.)

I'm a big fan of Band-Maid.  They've been having some fun and they've created an alter-ego band called Band-Maiko.  Maiko are geisha in training and the band has declared that Maiko are the mortal enemy of the Japanese maid. 

Basically, they just dress up in traditional gear and facepaint, play their hard rock but throw in some classical Japanese instruments and singing styles and have a good time goofing around.

Lead singer looks pretty damned good in the geisha get up and white makeup.
