Back when literacy was about 10-15% of the population, the only people writing / written about were folks that were worth writing about.
Now that everyone can (sort of) read/write we self-aggrandizing bullshit like this that just makes you wonder if weren't really better off with an education system that didn't pretend these guys were worth anything, and instead of sapping resources from helping other kids excel, we just give 'em a shovel, point 'em toward the nearest ditch, and pay them off in cheesburgers and PBR at the end of each day.
