That just totally jogged my memory , I do remember him in the three musketeers now that you mention it :)  I don't remember him at all in hunt for red October and I think that's a great movie !!!!

Also I watched him in legend yesterday after mirth posted the link  O0 found the whole film on YouTube , he played a great part . I would never have guessed that was him though underneath the lord of darkness , but he definitely has a great screen presence. The film definitely reminded me of Labrynth with David Bowie and the never ending story , and I really like those type of films so I enjoyed it :)
