The key to surviving this site is to not say something which ends up as someone's tag line - Steelgrave

"their citizens (all of them counted as such) glorified their mythology of 'rights'...and lost track of their duties. No nation, so constituted, can endure." Robert Heinlein, Starship Troopers

We need to start assigning folks around here with those titles.

Who's going to be the pissprophet?

Not it!
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Cool link.

That is a great resource for helping flesh out a RPG or fantasy world.  I might have to use that in my miniatures campaign.

This list is hardly complete.  Every large breeding farm would have a knackerman.  (In today's slaughter houses in america, believe he is called a knocker.)
Where is the gong farmer?  Don't fash yourself over this, he's the guy who goes into sewers with a shovel to break up jams.  (And yes, they could die from the fumes in tiny tunnels.)
And, of course, the most important worker in any medieval city, the ratcatcher.  (Also, a very well paid craft.)
"Most gods throw dice, but Fate plays chess, and you don't find out until too late that he's been playing with two queens all along".  Terry Pratchett.

During filming of Airplane, Leslie Nielsen used a whoopee cushion to keep the cast off-balance. Hays said that Nielsen "played that thing like a maestro"

Tallulah Bankhead: "I'll come and make love to you at five o'clock. If I'm late, start without me."

"When all other trusts fail, turn to Flashman." — Abraham Lincoln.

"I have enjoyed very warm relations with my two husbands."
"With your eyes closed?"
"That helped."  Lauren Bacall

Master Chiefs are sneaky, dastardly, and snarky miscreants who thrive on the tears of Ensigns and belly dancers.   Admiral Gerry Bogan.

Ratcatcher is listed.

I'd like to be the hayward. My previous experience includes having a fence.

I would have thought bathing in radioactive sludge was a more transferable skill, but there seem to be plenty of positions open, so help yourself.

Spent a bit more time looking through this list.

N.B. chirurgeon - surgeon

Same language as used in some of the WH40K novels. Interesting.

It's an old germanic or slavic term, methinks.
In Dutch a surgeon is a 'Chirug' IIRC it's the same in Polish and Czech. Smuck may be able to confirm.

It was a rough time of my childhood in the 80s. I was trying to be a Ninja Turtle. It didn't work. Sadly.

OMG. How did I not see that coming?

I seriously don't hold grudges. Out of sight, out of mind.

Not that I'm often in my mind even when I'm in sight.
