Presumably, at Fontenoy, the allies might have done something more sensible than a series of head-on attacks against the strongest part of the French lines.
Here they try swinging north to cut off the French at their one bridge(to the southwest).  The French are responding (moving in from the south):

  About one hour into the battle, the French Guards prepare to attack Ramecroix (PS -- Bligh's brigade routed the Guards, but the French dismounted dragoons routed
the Hannoverian mounted dragoons so it all came out to a draw -- no photos though):
