Haiti just can't seem to get a break. First the earthquakes, then the government assassinations, and now this.
My niece used to do work in Haiti for Samaritans Purse. I was so relieved when she left there, but then she went to Iraq! SP recently sent all/most? of their workers home from Iraq, so she is now back in the states. :twirl:
^I didn't know they went to such dangerous places. I worked for Samaritans Purse in the next town over from me when it got flooded last summer.

Yeah. She met her husband in Iraq. He was the head of security for SP in the area of Iraq where they were located. He is a former Army Ranger. Really glad they are back stateside, but from what I hear, they cant wait to go back.
Back to Haiti news. I read their el Presidente has landed in Puerto Rico. Probably waiting/hoping for US intervention before going to Haiti.
landed in Puerto Rico because the gangs are shooting up the airport.

^What a mess.
Haiti Prime Minister Ariel Henry announced Tuesday that he will resign (https://www.foxnews.com/world/haiti-prime-minister-ariel-henry-resign-civil-war-bowing-international-pressure)
Perfect. Ok so everyone can go home now.
That is good news. At least for once a leader realized he should just pack it up and step down.
I was being just slightly sarcastic in my last post above as I am sure that with tens of thousands of bloodthirsty gangsters roving Haiti that their problems in 2024 are just beginning. Where's that Kenyan rescue mission?
Papa Doc's and Baby Doc's legacy lives on.

True but I did notice at least this guy said "I give up". But you're right, still a lot of work left to do in Haiti.
