I am not totally surprised, although they haven't finished upgrading all their prior games to modern standards yet.
Still, when they were doing that over the past few years, I wondered if that meant a new BG entry was in production, with the enhanced editions of the old games serving as marketing to restore attention to the franchise.
I've been waiting for this since BG2 came out. I plan to pick it up.
In case anyone missed it this is being made by Larien, not Beamdog. Will be a day 1 buy for me for shure
:o Ditto!
(Makes note: FINISH ORIGINAL SIN 1, BG1 and BG2!)
This one is on my "to buy" list for sure.
I know this has been mentioned ad infinitum but it looks like a darker version of a Original Sin game which isn't necessarily a bad thing, and Larian has a pretty good track record. Will more than likely get this.
Great opening cinematic, cool to see the mind flayers of my youth, realized in motion, buying this one for sure.
I wish I could watch a movie like this intro.
How is the combat model?

I just got wood.
That was neat. Still, Baldurs Gate became a checkoff list of spells you had to cast in the proper order to ever land a hit on a high powered magic user. That was tedious and boring. The first one was excellent and Icewind Dale was wonderful. But I only completed BG2 once and never loaded it again.
Is this set in forgotten realms universe?
Yes, Baldurs Gate is one of its main cities.

Yeah me too, I'd love a full movie of that storyline.
The combat is turn-based which makes me very happy, I always wanted BG1/2 to be turn based, but I suspect might make some BG1/2 nostalgia folks unhappy that it's not that AI with a pause thing... here's the full Pax East demo showing the combat which looked great:

Me want......
Very impressive! Definately on my watchlist.
That reminds me that I still need to play Divinity Original Sin 2. :peace:
LOL Ysk so do I ;)
Just started it. STEAM had a 50% off sale on the weekend tied to this new title.
I am liking it but at only a couple of hours in still trying to figure a lot of simple stuff out.
Graphically it's intense with a couple of twists showing up early letting me know this is going to go into some dark places.
